After the player has mastered dribbling the ball to some extent, it becomes essential to polish rebounding skills. In basketball, the player must be conscious about footwork. To be clumsy or wobbly on the court is certainly not acceptable. Always try and slide your feet in defense instead of trying to use your hands to evade fouling. Let the feet take the lead and the hands control the ball. There is actually a huge amount of coordination between the limbs, where each manages the other.
A simple thing like having a fair amount of vigilance, while on court, is extremely crucial. The time on the clock and the positions of other players must be kept track of. Basketball also requires a skill set which is adjusting and accommodating. Therefore, in case of an unexpected fall out, it will only be an asset if the player can adapt efficiently to the strengths and weaknesses of their teammates. And alongside the player must also recognise his or her own weaknesses and identify at least one area at a time which can be improved upon. As it is true for all sports, every criticism comes from a nub that must be nurtured.
